The qualification must be held by 13 November 2026, and candidates awaiting final results should not apply.
Yes. The notice says the 50% marks condition is not insisted on for candidates who possess a qualification higher than 12th, so higher-qualified candidates are not barred. These posts are meant for the 12th-pass level, and graduate posts are covered in a separate NTPC graduate CEN.
The age limit is 18 to 30 years as on 01 January 2027. UR and EWS candidates must be born between 02 January 1997 and 01 January 2009. CBT 2 has 120 one-mark questions in 90 minutes: about 50 from General Awareness, 35 from Mathematics and 35 from General Intelligence and Reasoning. Candidates shortlisted for CBT 2 are up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies of the chosen RRB, based on normalised CBT 1 marks.
Yes. Both CBT 1 and CBT 2 carry negative marking, and 1/3 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Calculators and electronic gadgets are not allowed in the exam.

No. The Computer Based Typing Skill Test has been dispensed with for CEN 07/2026. Candidates are still expected to have basic computer and typing proficiency, which will be assessed after joining, and unsatisfactory performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.
The notice lists three areas: Mathematics (number system, percentage, ratio, time and work, interest, profit and loss, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics), General Intelligence and Reasoning (analogies, series, coding-decoding, syllogism, Venn diagrams, puzzles, data sufficiency) and General Awareness (current events, sports, history, geography, polity, science up to 10th CBSE, economy, computer basics and more).
Questions are available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Questions are displayed in your chosen language and in English.
You can apply to only one RRB and give your preference of Railway Zone or Production Unit and posts within that RRB. The choice cannot be changed later. Multiple applications to the same or different RRBs lead to rejection of all applications and debarment from RRB exams.
The notice has vacancies under 20 RRBs: Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bilaspur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Malda, Mumbai, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Prayagraj, Ranchi, Secunderabad, Siliguri, Thiruvananthapuram. RRB-wise, zone-wise and post-wise vacancies are in Annexure B of the notice.
Selection is strictly on merit based on the CBT stages, subject to minimum qualifying marks. Ties are broken by age (older ranks higher), then alphabetically by given name.
Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk needs medical standard B2, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist need C2, and Trains Clerk needs A3. Visual acuity is an important part of the standard, and candidates found medically unfit are not given an alternative appointment.

MockSeries offers an RRB NTPC Under Graduate mock series and online test series based on the CBT pattern of CEN No. 07/2026. The first practice set is free, and the remaining full-length timed mocks come with detailed solutions and performance analysis through MockSeries Pro.
Practice sets modelled on earlier RRB NTPC and similar railway CBT papers are included in the mock series, and sets tagged PYQ are based on previous papers. Because CEN 07/2026 is a new notice, no previous paper of this exact exam exists yet.
The cut off has not been released. The notice fixes only minimum qualifying percentages (UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL/SC 30%, ST 25%). Actual cut-off marks depend on normalised scores, vacancies and the number of candidates, and are known only after the CBT results.
None of these are out yet. As per the notice, e-call letters and city intimations are downloaded from the unified RRB website, and CBT results and empanelment are uploaded on the web pages of the individual RRBs. This page will be updated when dates are announced.
You get 90 minutes for 100 questions, about 54 seconds each, with 1/3 mark lost per wrong answer. Practise full-length timed mocks, attempt General Awareness first for quick marks, and use section-wise review to find whether Mathematics or Reasoning is pulling your score down.
