The selection has two stages: an objective type test and an interview.
| Stage | Test | Duration | Maximum Marks | Minimum Qualifying Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| General English | 25 | 25 |
| General Awareness | 25 | 25 |
| Total | 100 | 100 (in 90 minutes) |

The interview carries 25 marks with 13 minimum qualifying marks. It will be conducted either online or in physical mode in Delhi, as directed by the competent authority.
The notice fixes the four sections of the objective test but does not publish a detailed topic list. The topics below are the areas commonly covered in such papers, and our mock tests are built around them.

The notice requires a minimum of Class X standard and a maximum of Class XII (10+2) standard from a Board or Institute recognised by the Government. Qualification and other eligibility conditions are judged as on 01 October 2026.
The notice fixes the qualification as minimum Class X and maximum Class XII (10+2). Candidates with a higher qualification should read the official notice carefully before paying the fee, because a candidature found ineligible on verification can be cancelled at any stage.
The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on 01 October 2026. Usual relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwD and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules, and up to 5 years for dependants of freedom fighters. Widows, divorced women and judicially separated women who have not remarried get relaxation up to 35 years (38 for OBC Non-Creamy Layer and 40 for SC/ST). The selection has two stages. The first is an objective type (MCQ) test of 100 questions and 100 marks in 1 1/2 hours with 50 minimum qualifying marks. The second is an interview of 25 marks with 13 minimum qualifying marks.
The test has four sections of 25 questions each: General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English and General Awareness.
Yes. Each question carries one mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer in the objective type test.
If a large number of candidates qualify by securing 50 or more marks in the objective test, candidates are called for interview in the ratio of 1:3 against the number of tentative vacancies, in order of merit. On 130 vacancies that is about 390 candidates, but the figure can change if vacancies change.
The objective type test will be held tentatively on 26 December 2026. The interview date will be notified on www.sci.gov.in and sent by SMS and e-mail to the registered mobile number and e-mail ID. The interview will be online or in physical mode in Delhi, as decided by the competent authority.
Annexure-A of the notice lists 131 test centre entries across states and union territories, including Delhi/NCR. Candidates choose cities in order of preference, but the Registry can shift candidates to another city and no request for change of city or date is entertained.
As per the notice, the answer keys will be uploaded on 28 December 2026 and the objection window is tentatively 28 to 29 December 2026 till 11:55 PM. Objections are accepted online only at Rs. 100 per objection, refunded if the objection is found valid. The decision of the competent authority is final.

No. The scheme in the notice has only the objective type test and the interview. The test has a General English section but no Hindi, computer or typing section.
No. Selected candidates are empanelled in order of merit, and the notice states that mere placement in the panel does not give any right to claim appointment.
Candidates working in Central or State Government departments, PSUs, statutory bodies or nationalised banks must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of document verification. They also get no age relaxation.
You upload a recent photograph, signature, Class X and Class XII certificates, a caste/community certificate if you claim reservation (with a non-creamy layer certificate for OBC), and a disability certificate if applicable.
